A 30-Day Digital Marketing Practice Plan for Beginners (Free Tools)

If you are starting out in digital marketing, the fastest way to learn is to run a small campaign of your own. This simple 30-day plan uses free tools and gives you real numbers to show in interviews.

Week 1: Pick a topic and set up

Choose something you can write about for a month: a local bakery, a hobby, or a friend's small business. Create a free blog or an Instagram page, and set up Google Analytics and Google Search Console so you can measure everything from day one.

Week 2: SEO basics

Find 10 search phrases people actually use, with Google's autocomplete and the "People also ask" box. Write two helpful posts that answer those questions, with a clear title, headings and a short meta description.

Week 3: Social media

Post three times a week. Try one short video, one carousel and one simple image post, and note which gets the most saves and shares. Reply to every comment.

Week 4: A small paid test

With the owner's permission, run a tiny ad (a few hundred rupees) on Meta or Google. Set one goal, such as website visits or WhatsApp enquiries, and compare the cost per result against your free posts.

Use AI tools, but edit everything

AI can draft captions, suggest keywords and write ad variations quickly. Your job is to check facts, keep the brand's voice and choose what to publish. That judgement is what employers pay for.

Turn it into a portfolio

Write a one-page summary: the goal, what you did each week, the numbers (visits, followers, enquiries, cost per result) and what you would do differently. This page will do more for you in interviews than a list of certificates.
